Rajee Sinha's story is one of immigration, family, entrepreneurship and more than two decades of calling Guelph home.
Guelph is where Rajee chose to build his life.
Rajee moved to Canada in 1994 and went on to build his career, family and community life here. He has called Guelph home for more than two decades.
What began as a move quickly became home. Rajee and his wife raised their two children here, built careers, made lifelong friendships and became part of a community they are proud to call their own. Their family — including a much-loved dog — has experienced Guelph not as a political talking point, but as the place where they built their life.
Over more than two decades, Rajee has watched Guelph grow, become more diverse and face new pressures: rising housing costs, higher household expenses, concerns about safety and the challenge of keeping public services responsive as the city expands.
Leadership experience built outside City Hall.
Rajee is new to elected politics, but not to leadership. His career spans hospitality, retail management, entrepreneurship and real estate — fields where listening, problem-solving, accountability and service are part of the job every day.
In 2014, Rajee opened a pizzeria in Acton. He continues to operate the business while working in retail management in Guelph and as a licensed real-estate professional. Those roles have given him a practical view of hiring, customer service, budgets, rising costs, housing pressures and the impact government processes can have on residents and local businesses.
Rajee does not believe a city should be run exactly like a private company. He does believe residents deserve the same seriousness about outcomes that strong organizations expect: clear responsibilities, measurable standards, responsive service and honest reporting when something is not working.
Why Rajee is running for Mayor.
Rajee is running because he believes Guelph's next chapter requires practical leadership focused on the issues residents experience most directly. He wants families to be able to build a future here, seniors to feel supported, businesses to have confidence investing here, neighbourhoods to feel safe and City Hall to be easier to navigate.
His campaign is built around three priorities: affordability, safety and service — and a simple belief that local government should be judged by the results residents experience in their everyday lives.

Rajee believes good leadership starts by listening, using evidence and being honest about what the City can control and what requires partnership with other governments. He wants residents to know why decisions are made, what results are expected and whether those results are actually being achieved.
That is also the idea behind Rajee Listens: regular opportunities for residents to ask questions directly, challenge ideas and take part in a more open conversation about Guelph's future.
